My work as a project manager centers around operational readiness for new transit projects, operational modeling, asset management, training, writing and implementing SOPs, as well as designing better processes for collecting and using data for decision making. KPIs, data visualization, and LiDAR are focus areas of mine. I have supported of a diverse array of projects at New York City Transit, Long Island Railroad (Grand Central Madison), Amtrak (Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station Reconstruction), MBTA, WMATA, and PATH, as well as collaborating on responses to RFPs for future work, including scoping, scheduling, and budgeting.

I worked extensively with data analysis and visualization, designing better data collection and utilization, trend analysis reporting, and operational analysis, including use of GIS tools. I supported of a diverse array of projects at New York City Transit, Long Island Railroad, Amtrak, MBTA, and WMATA.

Developed and managed asset capture, interim and preventive maintenance, and turnover strategies for 13,000+ LIRR East Side Access capital assets and facilities, utilizing IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, in constant consultation with construction managers, contractors, LIRR Engineering and IT.Drafted, with MTACC and LIRR leadership and subject matter experts, the request for proposals for construction of the ESA wireless cellular and data network to serve the approximately 150,000+ customers and supporting agency staff, including mobile ticketing coverage;Lead drafting of the LIRR East Side Access Staffing and Training Plan, which forecasts and will schedule the onboarding process for 1,030 new railroad employees in advance of Opening Day. Prepared and presented an actionable Excel-based decision-making model for hiring and training, collaborating with leadership from LIRR.Liaison to quarterly multi-agency Rail Activation Plan (RAP) Task Groups – MTACC, Metro-North Railroad, and Long Island Rail Road – specifically in areas of Asset Management, Operational Readiness, Staffing and Training, and Safety and Security. Prepared monthly summaries, and updates to MTA leadership on ESA project progress and roadblocks.Supported development of formal ESA interim maintenance procedures for project turnover, drafting of Joint LIRR-MNR Emergency Action Plan for ESA and Grand Central Terminal together with staff from MNR, LIRR, and MTACC.

Drafted industry responses to federal policy on environmental, infrastructure, and funding issues, including rulemaking and policy guidance for New Starts / Small Starts and the new transportation law, MAP-21.Managed 30-member Sustainability Metrics and 25-member State of Good Repair / Transit Asset Management standards groups, providing guidance to agencies and input to federal rulemaking process started under MAP-21.Managed APTA's Sustainability efforts, including coordinating the drafting of industry recommended practices on sustainability indicator measurement, sustainable procurement, and greenhouse gas reporting, as well as guidelines, reporting, and awards process for the 107 signatories of the APTA Sustainability Commitment. Coordinated the annual Sustainability in Public Transportation Workshop, which attracts 150+ participants from agencies, business and federal government.Managed policy networks and knowledge sharing on sustainability reporting and streetcars and urban circulators.

Developed and calibrated an integrated five-borough GIS-based transit demand model and TransCAD network utilizing subway and bus schedule data, including travel times and headways, with guidance from the Director of Rail Network Planning. Used demographic, geographic, and ridership data to explain and forecast long-term city-level trends in transit ridership. Assisted with organization of large data sets and field-based collection of ridership and travel time data used in service planning and capital budgeting.
