Summary: From this experience, significant in-depth experience was gained in high-volume manufacturing, product development, program management, data analysis, top business KPIs, team leadership, and VP-level communications.Detail: The Overseas Chief Quality Engineer (oCQE) group within NNA-TCS manages the overall quality direction of Nissan/Infiniti vehicles, with one engineer acting as lead for each model. The engineer is accountable for ensuring the timing and efficacy of all countermeasures to meet corporate commitments and targets.This requires collaboration with virtually all other groups within development and manufacturing: Styling, Product Planning, Program Management, Engineering Design, Vehicle Testing, Product Safety, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, export market counterparts for all aforementioned groups, our Japan parent company (NML), and various others individuals as dictated by project requirements. As quality is impacted by every activity, all are interfaced by our group.Main activities included vehicle launch, new vehicle warranty claim resolution, pre- and post-SOP vehicle audits (digital and physical), data analysis from third-party experts (JD Power, Consumer Reports, etc.), MFG process audits.I was specifically responsible for validating quality for the 2015-2018 Nissan Murano, built in Canton, MS, for sale in US and international markets. My focus was to capture the voice of the customer and act as an engineering liaison to ensure the adoption of appropriate countermeasure for all design and defect issues. This would be anything from a broken harness retention clip to a center console complete layout change for future model year.From 2013 - 2015 prior to Murano, I was responsible for small (V/B-platform) US-market vehicles Versa, Versa Note, and Sentra built in Aguascalientes and Cuernavaca, Mexico. Efforts led to the lowest warranty claim rates in the company for Sentra and Versa and JD Power IQS Segment #1 award for 2015 Sentra.

I worked as a body-in-white Process Engineer in the Smyrna, TN plant as the key engineer for the launch of the Nissan LEAF in the System 2 (Car) Body Sides area. Duties included creation of equipment specifications for the purchase of necessary production cells and equipment in my process area, the oversight of the installation of these cells and equipment, the early verification of the LEAF manufacturing process, the achievement of LEAF Body dimensional accuracy and trim parts fit, the management of the contained people, tools, and consumables, and regular interfacing with various other plant groups and external suppliers. Similar body process experience includes the management of the System 1 (Truck) 60 JPH project which involved drastically raising the system capacity in preparation for all-new 2014 Rogue and increased QX60 and Pathfinder volume.

Learned about the commercial manufacture and use of regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs) to capture volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from abandoned mines in order to create carbon credit for potential market. Created a program to calculate the most efficient necessary frame size and strength requirements for RTO system components.
