Educational Philosophy:Students should be engaged in the classroom and not thought of as an empty vessel for educators to fill. My goal as both an educator and instructional designer is to do exactly this by bringing active learning and the sociocultural theory of learning into the classroom. By creating interactive face-to-face learning our students will not only learn and grow from each other they will also enjoy their experience.Bio:As a paramedic, author, educator, instructional designer, and artist, Kyle David Bates has been teaching all levels of EMS for over 25 years locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. By combining his love of medicine, art, and education he hopes to create a unique and interactive learning experience for all.Kyle is also an avid hockey player and coach. He has been playing goalie since he was a young child and is currently still playing. He is also the lead goaltending coach for the Nelson Hockey Association in Piney Orchard, MD where he works with many of the goalies from U8 through to U18 in individual as well as in team and clinic settings. Most recently Kyle attended the National USA Hockey Coaches Symposium in Lake Placid, NY where he achieved his Level 5 Gold Goal Coaching Certification.
