PIA’s School of Specialized Technology prepares its graduates for maintenance and electronics positions in industries such as aviation, manufacturing and production, infrastructure and power generation. Over the years, graduates have proven their versatility by entering into positions as technicians for regional and major airlines, aircraft production and maintenance facilities, amusement parks, automated production facilities, government contractors, petrochemical manufacturing plants, telecommunication systems providers, specialty metal manufacturers, and research and development centers – just to name a few.PIA’s Career Services department seeks out employment opportunities for both graduating students and alumni. Therefore, our pool of skilled technicians includes both entry-level and experienced individuals.We work one-on-one with recruiters and hiring managers to match our graduates with positions that are a good long-term fit for both employer and employee.PIA hosts company representatives for presentations and on-campus interviews on a regular basis. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Area

As Student Services Coordinator for the Myrtle Beach Branch Campus of PIA, I assisted with the setup of PIA’s newest facility. During my time there, I had multiple responsibilities that spanned across multiple facets of the institution.The main focus of my position was recruiting students. As the sole Admissions Representative for the campus, I met with prospective students and their families to discuss the opportunities that were available to them through PIA. I was responsible for collecting and filing all paperwork which was required for the enrollment of a new student. My daily duties included follow-up with potential students via telephone, e-mail, and scheduled meetings. In addition to my duties as the Admissions Representative for the campus, I was also relied upon to provide an array of Student Services to the individuals who were enrolled in classes. As such, I tracked inventory and processed transactions for the on-site bookstore. I also organized and monitored various campus activities including but not limited to Open house events, Graduation Ceremonies, Group Tours of the facility, and picnics for the students.The wide scope of responsibilities I held as the Student Services Coordinator allowed me to gain overall knowledge and experience in higher education.
