Responsible for new product development under the FAA based DUATS contract. This contract provides aviation-based weather, flight planning and flight plan filing to general aviation pilots. Main focus is on mobile applications (team of one) and new capabilities to the web site (team of four). Helped move the REST API endpoints from development into full production.

Primary developer of products. Developed Golden Eagle Windows based software from conception to launch and beyond. Key components included development of a graphic based flight planning system with weather integration of the DUATS system. This formed the foundation of a new product ChartCase that included aviation charts to be stored on tablet-based computers (before iPad). Developed SkyShow, a product for use in the passenger area of corporate aircraft to give position awareness to the passengers. This product morphed into JetMap that Honeywell acquired.

Worked on FliteStar flight planning Windows application. Helped with product transition of MentorPlus products into Jeppesen product line.

Lead developer of all products, managed team of developers of products as the company grew.Developed FlightSchool, FliteStar and Approach Pro product lines. FlightSchool was a flight training application to help student pilots prepare for the pilot written exams. Created a customized database to store questions, study materials and learning engine.FliteStar is a full featured flight planning system that incorporated maps, advanced aircraft models with weight and balance calculations and DUATS connectivity for filing of flight plans. An auto routing engine was built to find the best route on low or high airway structures. Initially developed as a DOS application and ported to Windows over the life of the product. Developed using Microsoft tools, eventually into MFC C++ code.Approach Pro was a stand alone app to display FAA based terminal procedures in an electronic form. A mechanism was built to scan the terminal procedure books and manage the files and put them into an customized database for use in the application.
