As a Special Projects Assistant, I assist with bids for new customers, match items for bids, and help customers in finding the best products. To do this, I work very closely with vendors. I also manage our monthly order guides used by our sales team, as well as call on customers for GVH’s Amarillo branch to build and maintain relationships, as well as build new ones through inside sales.

As an HR assistant, my job duties included performing customer service functions by interacting with and supplying information and answering questions to employees, team leaders, managers, and job applicants, providing assistance in hiring process activities such as posting jobs, screening applications, conducting employment reference checks, submitting the online investigation requests and assisting with new employee background checks, helping to maintain employee files and the HR filing system, assisting with reconciling employee time clocks on a weekly basis, and general office duties: made photocopies, faxed documents, answered phones, and performed other clerical functions. My two biggest projects were helping the company go paperless with employee files and putting together the internal company newsletter every month.

The HHP is a bereavement center for people of all ages who have lost loved ones. Interned there in the spring of 2018 and helped with everyday activities like getting rooms ready for group or updating databases. Also, helped to create a new program for the HHP called Emerge. Emerge is a teen support group for ages 12-18 for teens who have lost a loved one (friend or family) to suicide. Created the community survey and logo for the program. Helped present the program to the board and create the outline for the group.

Interviewed and was accepted to participate in an internship program which is part of the Canyon ISD PRO Internship Program. Helped the chamber in everyday activities at the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and learning how this business runs
