I was born in Raleigh. North Carolina, and am currently in school at East Carolina University. I grew up in an active family with four other siblings, which helped develop my passion for the outdoors and nature. I love to explore and stay active. Growing up as the middle child of five children, I was able to develop a strong sense of determination. I never give up. I am patient and very understanding. However, sometimes I felt as if I was unnoticed simply because there were too many people around. I learned to grow strong in my own company, which allows me to empathize with those who lack opportunity for self-expression. From volunteering at basketball camps for kids, to studying internal and external factors affecting leisure, I've learned that empathy is at the core of any successful leader or business. Nature has always been my safe space. From hiking, to playing sports with friends, to sitting in a field to admire the view, I've gained an immense appreciation for the outdoors and all it has to offer. I developed a passion to teach others about the opportunities nature and outdoor recreation provide, especially to those who feel they have limited opportunities and no safe-space. In my work, I hope to pass my ideas along so future generations appreciate the outdoors, while empathizing with those around them.
