Senior Manager, Entertainment Marketing
Current• Develop, manage, and coordinate all matters pertaining to mascot character – “Orbit” – including all in-costume performing, character branding, skit writing/execution, budgeting, social media, and implementation of game entertainment elements such as video production and live skits. • Work closely with Fan Experience, Marketing, Corporate Partnerships and Community Relations departments to enhance fan development efforts and ensure a close working relationship with all team members, partners, and sponsors.• Establish new ways to drive company revenue by creating appearance packages for corporate partners, season ticket holders, and sports fans in the greater Houston area and marketplace.• Create, produce, and perform educational school assembly shows experienced by over 50,000 students and educators each year that cover topics such as anti-bullying, literacy, STEM, and making smart choices during red ribbon week.• Manage a close-knit team of five individuals who are the embodiment of Trust, Integrity, and Excellence and assist with enhancing a positive in-game experience to create lifelong memories for our fans.• Maintain a strong working relationship and good standing rapport with all major sports entertainment vendors to ensure needs are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.• Represented Major League Baseball as the only mascot selected to accompany the MLB All-Star team to the 2014 Japan All-Star Series in Osaka, Tokyo, Sapporo, and Okinawa, Japan.• Nominated for two GIBBYS (“Greatness in Baseball”) Awards in 2014, with an additional nomination in 2015 as the “Best Trending Topic” by MLB.com.• Became the first MLB mascot to receive the GameOps.com “Best Mascot” Award in 2014, and only the fourth mascot to win the award two years in a row after winning again in 2015.• Named “Best Mascot in Houston” by the Houston Press’s “Best of” Issue in 2015 and 2016.
