I have worked in the service industry for many years and earned many experiences. From that I have drawn a few insights. 1. Talking to people is hard.2. Creating genuine connections is even harder. 3. When you learn to talk to people and create genuine connections it becomes less of a job and more of a life builder. You gain much more depth and rewards from your job when you can do those things. I have learned to talk to others and create real connections and because of this, it has allowed me to move forward in life. I have become confident, hardworking, cooperative, and most importantly true to myself. Additionally, from the variability of the service industry, I have learned to be flexible and adaptable, this paired with being able to communicate thoroughly I have been able to draw on others experiences and use them for myself. I have used my accumulated skills to take the initiative at my current job to seek out opportunity. I will be shadowing another department that may lead to future opportunities, there was no formal job posting or shadowing opportunity. I sought out greater depth from my job and was rewarded effectively for doing so.I look forward to what the future holds and what is out there for me to experience.
