Found significant concentrations of Rare Earth Elements (averaging >1mg/L, up to 9.9mg/L) in samples of coal mine drainages from 35 sites across the Illinois Basin, selected with geochemical and geospatial considerations in coordination with personnel from Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and Office of Surface Mine Reclamation (OSMRE). Exploratory data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel, and findings were orally presented to meetings of the Geological Society of America at both regional (North-Central Section, 2016) and national conferences (Indianapolis, 2018).
