Kyle is a first-generation professional in Maritime and Security.He graduated from the USCG-approved school, the Seafarers Harry Lundeburg School of Seamanship (SHLSS), affiliated with the Seafarers International Union in 2015, after completing high school in 2010. While in high school, he served as Senior Class President and was a member of the school’s inaugural Sailing Team.After high school, Kyle began working locally at Cross Sound Ferry and volunteered with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. In 2013, he applied to the SHLSS to earn various Coast Guard certifications, ultimately becoming an STCW-compliant Merchant Mariner, gaining both inland and deep-sea sea time and experience.In 2020, Kyle achieved his U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s license.At one point, while Kyle is focused on obtaining his Associate Degree in Applied Science of Marine Operations while operating his business, Knickerbocker Maritime Unlimited. From 2020 to 2024 when Knickerbocker Maritime Unlimited was still in operation, they assisted both new and experienced U.S. Merchant Mariners with the complex Mariner Credentialing Application process, exam preparation for U.S. Coast Guard tests, and job placement support.In addition to these projects, Kyle works as a Marine Patrol Officer on Connecticut’s largest lake. He has plans to become a U.S. Coast Guard-certified Instructor and a NASBLA-approved Boating Instructor for his local boating community in Southeastern Connecticut.
