My services include assisting non-filers to become tax compliant under the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program and streamlined filing compliance procedures to mitigate significant penalty exposure resulting from failure to report income and disclose foreign assets to the US government. I assist foreigners that invest in the US and businesses expanding their operations into the US with their US tax filing and planning needs. My planning includes assisting investors and business owners to decide an appropriate entity type depending on the person’s goals and objectives with the US tax laws in mind. I also consider whether there is a tax treaty which would apply to reduce the US tax liability.My international tax planning always includes consideration of the US estate tax system, beyond simply considering the income tax effect. I advise non-US persons regarding their US estate tax exposure as it relates to their US investments. I advise US citizens married to non-US citizens or US citizens with assets or family worldwide, regarding their US estate exposure and international estate planning opportunities including the use of estate tax treaties to reduce the tax burden. When these persons pass away, I assist the executor with the preparation of US citizen/resident or non-resident US estate tax returns, along with fiduciary income tax returns for the estates. I assist with the US international trust planning to ensure the estate plan doesn't involve any unintended adverse US tax consequences. I assist with US trust income tax return and foreign trust disclosure filings.
