I am a student, a teacher, and a researcher. I am currently a graduate student in the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience concentration within the Psychology PhD Program at Georgia State University. As a 2CI Neurogenomics Fellow, I am fascinated by the applications of neuroimaging, genetics, and neuroinformatics tools for expanding upon our understanding of the human brain. My research interests center on the use of neurophysiological methods, such as EEG and fMRI, for identifying biomarkers of psychiatric illness.I earned my Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology from New Mexico State University (NMSU), where my thesis utilized statistical methods to examine power interactions across several commonly studied ERP components in the field of EEG. At NMSU, I also worked as a teaching assistant, webmaster, and part-time administrative assistant for the Psychology Department. At Brigham Young University – Idaho (BYU-Idaho), I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology. After graduating I worked for BYU-Idaho as an adjunct instructor, teaching an Introductory Psychology Course for a few semesters. During that time, I also worked at various levels and positions as a researcher, including work as the lab manager for Scott Martin’s Positive Psychology Lab and as the data manager for the Alere Youth Development organization, a series of grant funded evidence based programs.
