OPSOs assist with mission planning, tasking, co-ordinating and monitoring air operations, primarily in the RAAF, but also for the other services.I was commissioned as a Flying Officer in 1994, and completed Junior Officer Initial Course with RAAF College from 1994 to 1996, and later promoted to Flight Lieutenant in August 1997.I completed my OPS (Basic) course at RAAF Townsville in 1998.I held secondary position as the Unit Security Officer, completing the USO course at RAAF Amberly in June 1996 and was the flight commander for the 21 Squadron Ground Defence & Security section, directing Airfield Defence Guards and RAAF Security Police. On top of that, I also worked for a short time as the Brigade Air Liaison Officer to the Australian Army's 4 Brigade.
