I have been passionate about film, media, and social impact for years. Since I moved back to St. Louis in 2012. I co-founded two organizations, Speak Up Studios aims to create meaningful and inspiring content for nonprofits and cause-based organizations, while Continuity's mission is to expand diversity in media production through skills-based training, mentorship, and opportunities for untapped talent. As a co-founder and producer at Speak Up Studios, I have worked with nonprofits like St. Louis Public Radio/NPR, March of Dimes, and The Salvation Army to capture their collective impact and stories through documentaries, short films, and promotional videos. I have also helped produce documentaries like "Show Me Democracy," which premiered on FUSE TV and screened at 11 film festivals, including SXSW EDU and St. Louis International. As a co-founder of Continuity, I lead the organization's strategic vision, fundraising, and partnerships, working with the Missouri Film Office, STL & KC Film Office, the Missouri Arts Council, and the Regional Arts Commission, among others, to support our program, CREW. Continuity CREW provides quarterly, day-long advanced workshops on media production topics and practical on set skills, as well as networking and employment opportunities for our participants through our CREW Apprenticeship Program. We have also recently launched our program in Kansas City in 2023 and CREW Labs in 2024, which is the hands-on portion of our CREW program. We plan to launch our CREW Live program and expand to Columbia & Springfield, MO, in early 2025. I am always looking for new ways to learn, grow, and collaborate with others who share my values and goals of using film and media as a tool for social change and empowerment. I believe that film and media cannot only entertain but also educate, inspire, and challenge audiences to think critically and act compassionately.
