The printshop keeps growing! We've moved our shop to South Shore Village on the corner of Diekema and 17th St. in Holland as we continue to find new clients. My responsibilities are overseeing the shop, apparel design, invoicing, marketing and everything else it takes to run a small company.

Teacher of LDRS 231: The Startup Process. We provide interdisciplinary students with non-traditional hands-on learning to give them a better understanding of the entrepreneurship process. Starting with a problem, finding a solution, then building a business model that is ready to present at investor pitch competition at the end of each semester.HEI (Hope Entrepreneurship Initiative) exists to support students who are continuing to work on their business. We provide funds, access to industry experts, and a weekly session to work with the students.

I operated all aspects of operations and business development for the apparel company MichiganAwesome.Responsibilities included: Graphic design, website maintenance, managing social media, customer relations, retail development, print shop management, order fulfillment, shipping, promotional product development, and much more.

What started as an experimental project quickly snowballed in an apparel company that has reached all corners of the Great Lakes. I started My Great Lake as a senior at Hope College and took the following summer to develop the website and road trip around each lake to find retailers and promote the brand. I learned the trade of screen printing and developed a fulfillment process to print, package and ship all shirts in-house.

The OAC is a student led organization of 300 students at Hope College. Our focus is to bring new experiences to students throughout the academic school year. Weekly climbing trips, volunteering, several back packing trips and other outdoor gatherings are all elements of this club. I oversee all activities and am in charge of budgeting, planning and event promotions.

As the Student Communications Assistant, I worked with the Office of Advancement as well as the Office of Parent and Alumni Relations. My role included designing and editing electronic and print communications, performing website & online community updates, and assisting with event marketing.

My time is split between developing a strategy for the sales of new products and assisting with the finances of a division. Abilities required include: self-management, Quick-books, Excel, small business innovation, strategy planning and implementing, marketing, and working in team environments.

After several years of experience with online sales and marketing, we provide consulting to manufacturers about where to sell products and what channels to use.

During my semester studying in Dublin, I interned at the Sanctuary. My job was to digitally design brochures, posters, and websites to promote upcoming events.
