About Kyle Varez
Hey there, I'm Kyle! đź‘‹By trade, I'm a product designer. But... who am I really though?Well, one way to put it is that I'm someone simply working on designing their life around the things that they love. It's why I pursued design in the first place - I have an inherent obsession with making intuitive things for others.Entrepreneurship also holds a special place in my heart. In 2021, I launched KeebCrate, which was initially a mechanical keyboard hobby that turned into a business. Now, I'm working on aligning my love for entrepreneurship with my passion for design. Finally, I'm someone who's also obsessed with personal development. For the past 3 years, I've been on an intentional journey of self-growth because I've learned (and experienced) that the greatest investment you can ever make is in yourself. Thanks for reading a bit about me! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions :)

Founder & Designer
Junior Product Designer
Product Designer Intern
During my internship at Secret City, I had the privilege to contribute to two significant projects that honed my design skills and had a meaningful impact on both our client, Flexspace, and Secret City's studio website.Project 1 - Flexspace Rebooking Experience & Homepage Redesign:For this project, I collaborated closely with a fellow product designer on the Secret City team to redesign Flexspace's homepage with a focus on enhancing the rebooking experience. I led the design of the hero section, facilitated design review meetings with the client and developers, iterated based on feedback, and prepared design files for smooth developer handoff. Additionally, I presented my designs directly to the client, articulating my design decisions and receiving feedback for iteration.Project 2 - Secret City Studio Website:Tasked with creating a comprehensive website showcasing Secret City's work, I conducted 3 user interviews, crafted personas, and developed an intuitive information architecture. I then brainstormed wireframes, presented designs to stakeholders and the design team for feedback, iterated my designs based on feedback, translated them into high-fidelity designs with a cohesive brand system, and initiated website development using Framer. My internship extended into a Junior Product Designer role, allowing me to continue contributing to the Secret City studio website's development and spearheading more projects for Flexspace. Overall, these experiences solidified my design prowess and passion for human-centred solutions.
Founder
KeebCrate was my first ever small business. During my time, I designed and produced handmade artisan keycaps using epoxy resin, built the website storefront and managed the store backend using Shopify, managed email and social media marketing resulting in over 1,000 followers, and packaged and shipped over 100 orders globally. Ultimately, I stopped running KeebCrate to focus on my career as a product designer. Nevertheless, I learned so much about starting and running a successful business, and I will never forget how great of an experience it was.
Assistant Manager
I worked closely with the store manager to ensure the timely completion of administrative tasks, managed their social media pages and created marketed content to reach new customers, and increased customer return rates by providing excellent customer service.
