Helped raise over $800,000 in less than two months during the special election. Implemented a multi-pronged campaign finance plan with the finance director including call-time, fundraising events, and digital media strategies and maintained contact with union PACs, donor organizations and the campaign’s compliance firm.

Conducted budget analyses for five agencies in the Rhode Island state government totaling $1.5 billion in annual expenditures, including the state’s entire public higher education system and the state’s child welfare agency. Attended high-level policy meetings with principals to discuss major legislative initiatives, including systemic reform of the state’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families and the development of a new two-year free college tuition plan. Presented analyses of budget impacts for various legislative bills, state agency requests, and gubernatorial budget proposals to the House Finance Committee, including in televised sessions

Worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for Professor Jiso Yoon at the University of Kansas, helping her with a long-term research project. Project analyzed women's political representation in East Asia, specifically in Japanese and Korean local legislative assemblies. I constructed an original dataset of variables used to analyze women’s political representation in local Japanese legislatures, analyzed data in Stata 13 statistical software to identify appropriate research methodologies, and edited the Professor’s research proposals and drafts prior to submission to review boards

Managed field operations as Deputy Field Director for the Jean Schodorf for Kansas Secretary of State campaign during the 2014 election cycle. Duties included recruiting and organizing volunteer operations in Eastern Kansas, coordinating with Democratic Party county chairpersons in larger counties, attending campaign events and communicating with voters, and assisting the Kansas Democratic Party with get-out-the-vote efforts in the last month of the campaign.

I worked as a production assistant at the University Press of Kansas for a little over one year. My duties there included proofreading and editing manuscripts, communicating with authors and referring them to various departments within the Press, answering calls to the Production Office, communicating with the Library of Congress about CIP information, and assisting with various other duties that my superiors requested of me.

During the 2013 session of the Kansas Legislature I worked as a legislative intern for Representative Sydney Carlin of Manhattan, Kansas. My duties included writing letters to constituents, legislative research, attending committee and caucus meetings, summarizing bills for my Representative, and editing/improving floor speeches.
