Participated in all phases of complex class action litigation, with a focus on antitrust. Investigated and drafted complaints; drafted dispositive and non-dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss, class certification, summary judgment, discovery motions, motions for preliminary and final approval of settlement, and motions for attorneys’ fees, reimbursement of expenses, and service awards; took five depositions, including one expert deposition, and defended one expert deposition; drafted a document review protocol for a team of approximately thirty document reviewers that I managed; attended hearings on motions to dismiss and class certification; attended mediations; and coordinated with claims administrators during the notice process.

Worked with the healthcare team writing memos on wide range of legal issues, including HIPAA, Medicaid and Medicare, the FERPA, and Washington State’s Charity Care law.

Researched and help write the FTC’s successful opposition to DirecTV’s motion to amend their complaint to add a statute of limitations defense, a defense that sought to apply a 5-year statute of limitations to FTC restitution based on the Supreme Court’s Kokesh decision. Researched and help write an article for the journal Competition involving healthcare provider mergers. Specifically, I helped draft a section related to Certificate of Public Advantage laws.

Drafted legal memoranda on a variety of issues including class action ascertainability, indirect purchaser standing under Illinois Brick, and causes of action under the Video Privacy Protection Act.
