My experience includes over ten years working in land use, environmental and municipal projects, including as a land use project manager and permitting lead in the construction industry, a land use and environmental lawyer for a mid-sized firm in downtown Seattle, and roles with local governments. In my current role, I work directly with local governments, experts, and the community to maintain and obtain land use permits. As a lifetime resident of the Pacific Northwest, I am passionate about ‎Washington State’s past, growth, development, and future opportunities. My curiosity about the future of this ‎region keeps me energized and engaged. ‎I have a knack for identifying issues, getting to the heart of a ‎problem, and finding the most efficient solution. Colleagues describe me as assertive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic. ‎Due to my brief time in IT, I am also known for my ability to effectively navigate technology. I'm particularly proud of the following achievements from my career so far: - Successfully obtained changes to county and city comprehensive plans and zoning maps - Monitored and participated in comprehensive long range planning projects and code revisions for various jurisdictions throughout the State of Washington - Obtained a DNR reclamation permit for a gravel mine - Managed the permitting and removal of diesel and gas underground storage tanks - Managed consultants and their budgets for engineering, environmental, stormwater, and other matters for numerous projects - Completed county and city periodic reviews of mine and asphalt operations - Influenced and supported the drafting of land use and development regulation codes for multiple local governments in Washington State - Assisted a team of attorneys on a month-long adjudication before an administrative legal council - Served in a leadership role with the WSBA Environmental and Land Use Law Section - Won summary judgment for a client in federal court without oral argument - Transitioned two legal publications to web-based platforms - Vacated five rights-of-way - Successfully challenged a large impact fee assessment on behalf of a property owner - Hosted 3-day legal seminar on land use and environmental law - Created a scholarship (with a team of talented women) to support college students volunteering for local radio
