About Kyle Schochenmaier
I currently work at Polygon.io as a staff engineer covering the intersection of the platform and product teams. This work drives the utilization and optimization of our on-premise production and staging kubernetes clusters as well as the applications that form our core product in the fintech space.Prior to this I worked briefly with Microsoft as a Principal Software Engineer on the Azure for Operators organization where I focused on building out the Nexus AKS product which extended Azures ecosystem to on-premise hardware by managing and deploying AKS clusters inside Telecom datacenters. Unfortunately this org was eliminated by Microsoft.Previously I worked for HashiCorp as a software engineer on the Vault Ecosystems team which focused on Kubernetes integrations like the Vault Secrets Operator, Vault Agent injector, CSI provider, helm charts, as well as maintaining the Terraform Vault+Kubernetes Providers and secrets engines. Prior to this I worked on the Consul Service Mesh, designing first class Kubernetes support for Consul while focusing on Zero Trust as well as multi-cloud and federation interfaces. I was a Principal Engineer at Nexenta where I helped design and deliver the Nexenta Edge Object Storage system, a next generation greenfield cloud storage system. I led development efforts and provided technical direction on the client-server interfaces, replication, deduplication, system and object metadata, computational offloading, containerization and admin interfaces. In addition to this I worked heavily with the Sales, Product, and Leadership teams to influence and define product roadmap and manage customer escalations and feature requests while leading and mentoring a growing team of engineers.Formerly an Engineer at Microsoft, Nexenta, Portworx, Intel, DOE/AmesLab.Specialties: Research, Secrets, Vault, HPC, Storage, Networking, Distributed Systems, Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Service Mesh, Zero Trust, Open Source Software (OSS)Recruiters : If you've made it this far, please do not send any inMail/requests that are simply a request for me to send you my resume or schedule an appointment on your calendar, I'll kindly not reply.* 100% Remote FT roles only.* Please include a copy of the job req + comp ranges in your inMail or I'm unlikely to respond.* If your company is in the middle of or planning a RTO - please don't waste your time!
