Created digital filter library with implementations of digital Butterworth filters of arbitrary order.Helped create and integrate simulated Rockwell-Collins Pro Line 21 Integrated Avionics System for use in a level D certified Cessna CJ1+. Configured and integrated the simulated fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems based for the same aircraft based on the aircraft maintenance manual.

Studied the contact of elastic-perfectly plastic spheres. Formulated a force-displacement law based on results of numerical contact simulations. Wrote an explicit numerical code for simulating wave propagation in chains of identical spheres using the force-displacement law in order to study wave propagation dynamics.

Assigned as TA for AE 470, a senior-level class in numerical methods in aerospace engineering. Included topics from numerical differentiation to the solution of partial differential equations using finite difference and finite element methods. Responsible for grading programming assignments and homework as well as holding office hours to help students understand concepts and their implementations in Matlab.

Developed software to create and mesh 3D representations of the grain geometry in thin films. Used a Voronoi Tessellation with particularly seeded points to generate geometry that mimicked the columnar grains often seen at the micro scale in MEMS thin films.

Worked closely with a graduate student to help develop an in-house finite element code in C++. Learned template metaprogramming techniques and how to apply them. Developed constant space algorithms for traversing trees in depth-first and breadth-first manners given only the current node being visited. Also developed a 'calculator' class which parsed strings representing mathematical expressions into a bytecode representation to allow expressions to be evaluated dynamically. This improved the speed of dynamic evaluation over the previous solution by a factor of 100.
