I get it, the world is a messy place. We are generating more incidental data than we know what to do with. The way I see it, we could either run from it, or, learn from it. I have been honing skills in electrical engineering and the programs that support it for the past decade, and it just keeps getting better! Everything used to be lines in AutoCAD. Now? Jump into Revit, tap into that database and start seeing how the information stored in one place can be pivoted into another. When you can design in Agi32, ElumTools, PowerCAD and Bluebeam – you start finding efficiencies and links between all of them. It’s difficult not to get excited and whip open a chrome tab (or ten) and deep dive into a Dynamo script that can automate hours away. Projects are getting bigger and more complex, and I’m finding a growing group of people that are as excited about BIM management as I am. But the real secret is understanding the job, working together in targeted workshops, and coordinating, coordinating, coordinating… Thank goodness there is Revizto.
