High-volume Cardiothoracic Surgical service performing 550 on-pump/80 off-pump cardiothoracic procedures per year; and 105 heart/lung transplants per year. Responsible for coordination and implementing all nursing care based on established nursing practice for a complex population of patients who possess high acuity and numerous co-morbidities necessitating: invasive hemodynamic monitoring & PA Catheters, mechanical ventilation, heart/lung transplantation, IABP Therapy, Inhaled Nitric Oxide, CRRT, Peritoneal Dialysis; as well as Ventricular Assist Devices such as: ECMO (Cardiohelp), LVAD (HeartMate II & III, HeartWare), and Impella. Competent in Open Chest Procedures, Epicardial & Transvenous Pacing; Massive Transfusion Protocols using both Level I Rapid Infusers and Belmont.
