Functioned as developer on an agile application line serving a large national insurance company.• Designed and implemented new automated testing systems that detected non-valid test cycles. This reduced testing time and saved CPU processing costs of approximately $19,000 per cycle.• Led successful upgrade and implementation of critical functions within the URS application. Lead developer and technical team lead designing and implementing enhancements to applications used to create customer bills and notices at a major regulated utility company. Additional responsibility for the validation and direction of technical design.• Engineered and implemented complex solutions to overhaul the customer bill and notice system throughout a 20,000+ hour customer enhancement initiative; this effort utilized many different legacy mainframe systems and newer Windows servers. Personally spent more than 4,000 hours on this project which required extensive requirements gathering, research and design, development, testing and deployment.• Led an effort to incorporate a new high-speed printer, designing the system architecture needed to support it, while simultaneously completing the necessary development tasks.• Operated as subject matter expert (SME) and technical team lead for the Bill Format team’s mainframe and distributed applications, both for internal and external resources.• Mentored several junior members of the team, continually training and aiding in the areas of coding and development best practices, communication and professionalism, as well as personal development. Diagnosed issues, designed solutions, and deployed fixes in high stakes rapid response scenarios.• Implemented many redesigns of flawed systems that reduced daily and monthly unplanned work by over 50%.• Developed new and maintained many mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve, DB2, IMS, and many other technologies. Responsible for being an expert in thousands of programs, each consisting of tens of thousands of lines of code.• Solely responsible for the development and maintenance of many windows batch scripts utilizing Powershell. These scripts were used in a distributed environment and often required the coordination from many near and off-shore teams.
