Welcome to my LinkedIn page :) As a computer science 💻 student at the University of Maryland, my mission is to use my technical skills, as well as my social/emotional skills and work experience to bring benefit to others. I am deeply interested in how to make the field of computer science more accessible and inclusive. My belief is: Study hard 📚, Work hard 💼, Play hard 🎵, Rest hard🧘♂️Study: After 2 years completing the College Park Scholars- Arts program, and studying Psychology, I chose to begin my Computer Science journey. In only one year, I have learned the skills of Object Oriented Programming, Algorithms, Data Structures and Computer Systems, and have gained experience in languages such as Java, C, Assembly, Linux System API and HTML. In the following year, I plan to explore JavaScript, Python, Ocaml, Rust, Racket, explore front-end development tools such as React. So far, I have earned a 3.9 major GPA, and a 4.0 in all Computer Science classes, and am currently serving as an undergraduate TA for CMSC131.Work:I have worked over half a dozen jobs during my journey as a college student. Whether delivering groceries, serving food at a restaurant where our head chef was on "Hell's Kitchen" with Gordon Ramsey, dealing Blackjack at holiday parties, or caring for campers, I have learned the value of serving others, working in a team environment, and putting myself into the community and working hard.Play:After school and work hours, playing the clarinet, dancing, and participating in club Big Brother have brought me joy. Whether I am dressing up as Mario for the Gamer Symphony Orchestra, rolling around on Mylar blankets for a modern dance piece, or collaborating with my alliance to flip the vote before an eviction in club Big Brother, these spaces are where I can be myself. Competitive, energetic, and full of joy. I love being around so many other creative students, and doing things we love together. The effort I put into these clubs never feels like work.Rest:I would not be able to do everything that I do if I did not know how to rest and take care of myself. My mental, physical and emotional health is something that I prioritize. I make sure to eat good food, get enough sleep, and engage in physical activity. I have been deeply engaged in the "Open Heart Project" online meditation community for 8 years, and my daily meditation practice has been a huge support for me. I also love to read, and have read dozens of books on meditation, Buddhism, Anti-Racism, Feminism, and Disability Inclusion. Thanks for reading! Happy you are here :)
