I worked as a Nurse Extern on a progressive care telemetry unit at Baptist Health Louisville Hospital. My responsibilities included taking on a caseload of 3-5 patients per shift and providing direct and specific care to fit their needs. I was able to collaborate with Registered Nurses to perform skills such as obtaining vital signs, administering medication in various forms, inserting and removing IVs independently, priming IV tubing, providing wound care, rounding on patients to preform safety checks, and admitting and discharging patients on the floor. I was trained to document assessments and patient information in the electronic medical record using EPIC.

My work role at Sorg Sport and Wellness was to assist with any task the owners needed help with. I cleaned the gym equipment, worked the front desk, ran errands, helped set up exercise classes, cooked for the nutrition classes, helped with social media posts and marketing, and would even help with gym renovations such as painting rooms and helping pick out flooring, lighting, decorations, etc.
