I am a final year student studying a Masters in Chiropractic, working towards a first classification. Through playing touch rugby at an international level, I had to demonstrate commitment and self-discipline to perform at my highest standard, whilst also personally experience the importance of recovery. Throughout my time at university, I set up the first AECC surf society during which I worked hard to plan a calendar of events for members. This, alongside volunteering with young people and teaching them to surf allowed me to hone my communication skills, allowing me to empathise with a wide range of people in their highs of life, to their lowest lows. Working with a wide range of people is one of the reasons why I love chiropractic, a particular passion for paediatrics developed through mentoring students starting their rotations on paediatrics placement.Attending the BCA and UCA conferences inspired me to research into nutrition for my dissertation which was a topic I enjoyed alongside psychology seminars and pregnancy. Following the completion of my Masters degree, I look forward to building my patient base outside of university and being a present member in the local community. I am looking for a multidisciplinary organisation who is offering good mentorship to help focus my future specialisms and offer guidance during my time in practice.
