• Direct professional management of the Senior Health Information Manager (PO4), Clinical Coding Manager, Manager Information Access Unit.• Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Hospital and Health Service (HHS) on governance matters relating to health information and clinical information management, data and analysis.• As data custodian for the HHS, manage and disseminate data requests relating to patient information and liaise closely with Research Governance Office and Ethics approval processes.• Act as the HHS Privacy and Confidentiality Contact Officer (PCCO).• Review, maintain and provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on information standards in relation to clinical documentation, record structure, storage, retention (paper and electronic), forms design, information sharing and confidentiality for the HHS record management processes, in line with set standards.• Oversight and management direction for the work of the clinical coding service.• Ensure that clinical coding meets set standards, including deadlines for data submission are met as outlined by corporate requirements.• Oversee, investigate and participate in clinical coding audits program to ensure accurate clinical coding, Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) assignments and maximisation of the Queensland Weighted Activity Unit (QWAU) to support other quality review processes within the organisation such as review of complications and measured quality reports.• Lead, manage and support the collection and reporting of patient activity data and implementation of appropriate clinical information and e-Health systems.• Liaise and participate on the Statewide Health Information Management Committees, and other agencies regarding innovations and requirements for clinical classification in response to new technologies.• Provide advice, support and opinion for other relevant Health Information Management Committees, and activities as they arise in the organisation.

• Assign accurate ICD-10-AM, ACHI codes and DRG grouping according to Australian Coding Standards, national and state clinical coding authority guidelines, Queensland Health Admitted Data Collection Policy and legislative guidelines• Review the accuracy of DRGs allocated to admitted patient episodes prior to finalising coded data; • Identify discrepancies between the clinical information systems such as Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS) and patient records and feedback through appropriate channels; • Review the DRG allocation in conjunction with associated information such as length of stay, specialty and care type.
