I am currently senior embryologist for Genea Fertility in Canberra. I work in the fields of embryology, andrology and biochemistry and I am the Work Health and Safety Representative for our clinic. My main focus is to work closely with patients, nurses and doctors to assist patients to conceive through IVF. This involves working in theatre, preparing eggs and sperm for insemination, monitoring embryo growth, performing embryo biopsies, embryo transfers and embryo cryopreservation. I also work in diagnostics in the areas of andrology and biochemistry where I oversee a team of scientists to run patient hormones, maintain training and competencies, instrument maintenance, research and education. I am closely involved with our management to meet the requirements for both RTAC and NATA accreditation. Previously I was employed in the Cancer Research Unit at the Children's Medical Research Institute where I worked as a molecular and cellular biologist. Over the past 10 years I have applied my knowledge and previous experience in research to several study projects for Genea.
