In June of 2020 my two oldest daughters, Kinley and Kennedy, were diagnosed with Juvenile GM1 Gangliosidosis. Since learning of their diagnosis, my husband and I have dedicated much of our time to raising awareness and funding to advance treatments for all children with GM1. The CURE GM1 FOUNDATION’s mission is to fund research for the benefit of all those who suffer from GM1 gangliosidosis. This nonprofit organization was founded by parents of children who suffer from GM1 who seek to save the lives of all those who suffer from this wretched condition. The Cure GM1 Foundation is dedicated to directly funding research for a cure for GM1 gangliosidosis – a lysosomal storage disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord. Over 50% of those impacted die before their fifth birthday. GM1 is a progressive and degenerative condition with an extremely broad and debilitating array of symptoms and complications.CURE GM1 is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit entirely dedicated to GM1 Gangliosidosis research and drug development. We have held GM1 research symposiums and GM1 community and family conferences. Our meetings are attended by families from around the globe and help build momentum, community and progress. Please see the Advancements/Research items for more information with respect to the overall research landscape and also projects we supported/initiated.The Internal Revenue Service approved the foundation’s 501(c)(3) status on April 15th, 2015. With the generous support of GM1 families, those affected by GM1, and the support of the world, we believe a cure can be found. We must contribute in any way possible to bring these treatments forward. Every second that goes by, the world could be closer to an end to GM1 and an end to conditions like it, and innocent children who have the incredible misfortune of receiving disease-causing genes can finally have a chance at life.

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist my passion is to help people enjoy eating healthy and feeling great! Through a specified program I help individuals obtain their weight loss goals and maintain a healthy weight. •Conducts new hire and ongoing training for WIC Counselors and Registered Dietitians for entire agency •Performs quality assurance reviews of all new hires to assess the effectiveness of the training•Coordinates and prepares in-service trainings with the WIC Director and WIC Clinic Supervisors•Creates trainings for all Denver WIC staff to ensure technical competencies of the WIC computer system; provides/assists in in-service trainings involving local and state policy and procedures; provides nutrition specific continuing education to all staff•Assists Supervisor in developing open communication and establishing consistent expectations for their direct reports•Directs and manages Dietetic Interns and students at Denver WIC •Provide high risk nutrition counseling and teach nutrition and breastfeeding classes

• Supervisor for the Eastside WIC clinic serving over 5,500 participants• Responsible for managing overall operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local WIC policies and procedures• Directly supervise and lead two Registered Dietitians, four Lead Educators and one Educators; Overseeing twenty-two staff members to meet program requirements and quality standards • Complete quarterly and yearly performance management reviews and observations with all direct reports• Recruit, hire, orient and oversee training of all staff • Organize and facilitate monthly staff meetings and WIC supervisors meetings • Develop and maintain class and phone schedules, and all other duties• Encourage and promote open communication, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making with all staff managing conflict appropriately• Provide high risk nutrition counseling •Teach nutrition and breastfeeding classes
