Profile bio

About Kylie K. Wathen

I have over ten years of experience using skills and knowledge learned over my paid and unpaid positions to help others, especially veterans and military members. I worked at the Board of Veterans Appeals helping process VA disability claim appeals, and I worked at a government agency processing Freedom of Information requests for public access to information. I currently work with the USO Transitions Program helping military members throughout their military career with education opportunities and budgeting, and when they decide to leave military service, I work to make their transition as smooth as possible. I volunteered at the National World War II Memorial connecting visitors and National Mall guests with the stories of the veterans and the reason for the memorials. One of my biggest honors was volunteering with the local Honor Flight network as a guardian liaison and bus captain; I continue to volunteer as a guardian when able. Spending the day and time with veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam is the most rewarding and amazing thing I have ever done.

Listed skills include Legal Research, Legal Writing, Westlaw, Mediation, and 24 others.
