Research interests: I am currently researching Chinese entrepreneurial business culture in the Australian environment, specifically, the Chinese social, business and cultural norm known as guanxi (关系). Through this research I aim to explore how guanxi is practiced by Chinese entrepreneurs in the Australian environment. Kym Chappell: University of Adelaide graduate and Mandarin speaking entrepreneur in Shandong. My current passion is Clear Home and related subjects of air quality and clean air spaces.Clear Home is the first clean air flexible use space in Dezhou and possibly Shandong.Clear Home, also known as 清室教育 and Pure English's mission is to provide people in Dezhou with a safe clean air public space that support a variety of uses including for education and respite from what is some of the heaviest air pollution globally. The Air Quality Index as a means of measuring air quality has tipped beyond 999 and frequently above 600+ on a scale where the maximum rating or Hazardous is 500. For reference, emergency alerts and school closures begin in Beijing around 350 AQI. During these alerts as of 2016 schools are also closed in Shadong Province. But unfortunately during these frequent events there are no clean air spaces that people can go to for respite from the harsh conditions.From an Entrepreneurial standpoint it makes for a very interesting case study into the level of interest in clean air spaces in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Chinese cities. We are currently in stage one where I have opened my first location. At present it is too small as a flexi-space and is primarily used as clean air English education center. As brand recognition grows in Dezhou with the business, I intend open a larger location that can support a greater variety of uses. Situated Shandong province south of Beijing, Dezhou in is surrounded by some of the heaviest air pollution emitting cities in China including, Shijiazhuang 石家庄, Hengshui 衡水 and Jinan 济南.

Allcent provide quality rubber processing equipment to OEMs and mines. Services include procurement, negotiation, design, manufacture, quality assurance and supply chain management.

This role is in conjunction with my role as Administrator of Allcent Mining Products.As International Communication Manager I have assisted Sinomin in communicating and building strong working relationships with their multi national clients. Consulting on mediation and negotiation process strategy for Sinomin has created value for both parties and avoided cultural and business miss-communications. This consulting process breaks down barriers between negotiating parties and allows both to be more frank and comfortable in their business negotiations and build long term partnerships based on sound working practices.

Part time role - Reviewing and maintaining ERP database information related to sales and warranty. Analysing ERP data and producing reports relating to warranty faults and outgoings, sales forecasts and inventory management.
