• Interact with regulatory specialists and principal investigators and sub-investigators on all regulatory issues and changes within the protocol• Recruit and evaluate potential study patients, and work with clinical research coordinator to schedule required appointments and interviews• Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs• Instruct potential study patients, designated caregiver, physicians, nurse clinicians and other ancillary staff members involved in the care of the patient on aspects of patient’s care• Assist investigator with consent process assuring study patients understand clinical trials and obtains written informed consent• Educate study patients concerning informed consent procedures, HIPAA authorization

Provider in outpatient dialysis clinics and chronic kidney disease clinics.• Manage the hemodialysis patient per Kidney Dialysis Outcome Quality Indicators (KDOQI) guidelines.• Assess, diagnose, and manage systems-related complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) therapy including anemia, hypertension, bone disease, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and vascular access.• Diagnose and manage episodic health problems of clients with CKD and ESRD.• Assist the staff in preventing and treating complications of dialytic therapies.• Coordinate continuity of care between the outpatient dialysis unit and other healthcare settings.• Experience with outpatient CKD clinic and dialysis telemedicine services.

• Complete comprehensive preoperative evaluations in collaboration and consultation with anesthesiologists• Perform, interpret, and communicate results of preoperative diagnostic testing• Manages comprehensive care for patients and families in the preadmission phase of hospitalization• Develop a comprehensive individualized plan of care for patients which includes teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referral to other members of the health care team

- Guest lecturer on undergraduate and graduate levels - FNP clinical preceptor for chronic kidney disease clinic and hemodialysis rounding- Work with nursing students at WV SON to provide them with supplemental knowledge and training opportunities to augment student learning

-Engage students in comprehensive, individualized instruction in the observation, assessment, decision-making, and health teaching of clients, including the maintenance of client health or prevention of illness or disease in medical-surgical setting-Facilitate development of student’s critical thinking, technical, and professional skills while maintaining client and student safety and client confidentiality-Direct students to be responsible and accountable for their behaviors in the clinical setting. -Communicate with students and course coordinator regarding student progress. -Develop and implement new methods of teaching to reflect changes in literature-Providing care and instruction on variety of medical-surgical and step down units

-Plan, organize, and oversee staff of 1-2 registered or licensed practical nurses and 4-6 certified nursing assistants, and delivers direct patient care for 120 bed extended care facility-Orient clinical staff to their job responsibilities-Provide leadership in clinical problem solving

-Deliver direct patient care for 3-4 patients on medical/surgical step down unit-Assess patients physical, psychosocial and/or emotional needs-Provide patient and family teaching, including discharge planning and instruction-Triage patients and inform physician of patient status
