* Assumed a lead role directing post-acquisition integration, including the onboarding of 3000 acquired employees across multiple countries. Implemented the Workday HR platform across global locations, achieving all milestones and deliverables on-time and within budget.* Navigated the business from a position of zero compliance training to a strong framework of global compliance policies, regular training, and a 24/7 online and telephone-based hotline for managing ethics complaints.* Grew a new sustainability program to encompass new KPIs, central data collection systems, and policies/procedures that led to an improvement from Bronze to Gold status in EcoVadis in one year.* Led the creation and configuration of performance management and advanced compensation in Workday, moving the company off spreadsheets to improve the decision-making process related to performance evaluations, annual merit and incentive bonuses.* Managed the company’s global litigation and transactional work and delivered global commercial advice and counsel on a wide range of issues, including force majeure and supply chain disruptions, with a team of 1.5 attorneys and minimal use of outside resources. * Championed the adoption of LawVu to automate the management of contracts and legal processes, providing greater insight to business stakeholders and enabling stronger management and tracking of legal matters. * Led global business continuity teams during the COVID pandemic, creating and sustaining global programs and policies to safeguard the workforce while maintaining the momentum of the business, keeping offices open, and sustaining manufacturing processes.* Led teams and architected programs to manage volatility in production and professional employee movement through pulse surveys, focus groups, enhanced onboarding, and changes in compensation and benefits systems to support retention.

* Managed the legal department’s selection, onboarding, governance, and payment of outside counsel and the business strategy of managing outside spend through alternative fee arrangements, managed budgeting and project planning.* Managed legal support for the global Human Resources function, including the drafting of handbooks, employment policies, management of severance agreements and voluntary early retirement programs, created and delivered training to internal HR staff as well as broad based manager and employee training, in-person and virtual. * Led teams and architected programs to address compliance issues, including wage and hour reviews of exempt and non-exempt positions, fair pay and timekeeping and payroll practices.* Managed programs to protect trade secret, confidential information and manage agreements on non-competition/non-solicitation; directed litigation prosecuting and defending such claims.* Represented the company in numerous asbestos cases, including a defense verdict in a Washington state court jury trial and in a series of litigated claims over disputed insurance coverage, ultimately ending in favorable coverage-in-place agreements.* Successfully litigated employee and third-party claims for serious injury and fatalities, as well as wage, harassment, and discrimination lawsuits, including class action claims related to wages and negotiated favorable settlements in antitrust, product liability claims, class action claim for public nuisance and construction disputes.* Managed the company’s global hotline and the ongoing investigations of hotline complaints (approximately 700/year) related to claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, theft, inappropriate relationships, conflict of interest, wage and hour issues and other policy violations.
