Vinay is a serial entrepreneur, industrialist and early stage investor based in Kerala, India. He is an MBA graduate from London Business School and an alumnus of the ‘Venture Capital Unlocked’ program at Stanford University.Vinay started his career with the Coca Cola Company in 2001, and has since then been a part of different ventures in and outside India. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Venture Way (www.ventureway.io), a unified global startup ecosystem that founds, funds and fosters startups.Vinay has been actively investing in startups since 2012, and is the Chairman of Sparks Angel Network (www.sparks.vc), an angel network that invests in seed stage ventures. He works closely with different other angel networks and investment firms as well in different capacities, and is the Co-founder of Ideatory (www.ideatory.io), an idea-stage incubator. Along with his wife Mia, a data scientist, Vinay is now in the process of co-founding and investing in different Artificial Intelligence companies around the world, under VentureFactory.AI, an AI venture builder. Outside the startup ecosystem, Vinay’s primary business interests lie in mining. He is the Co-founder and Managing Director of Highland Silver Sands, a mining and rock crushing company that he set up in 2012. Silver Sands is now one of the region’s largest manufacturers of sand and granite aggregates. Vinay is also the Co-founder of Clean Mining Company (cleanminingcompany.com), a mining venture that focuses on sustainable mining operations and mineral trading initiatives in South Asia and the Middle East. Vinay is the Founder President of EO Kerala, the Kerala chapter of Entrepreneur’s Organization (www.eonetwork.org), and he also founded MyEO Angels, an angel network for EO members worldwide. Vinay is also the Founding Chair of the Kerala Council of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He is a Charter member of TiE Kerala and is the Chair of TiE Kerala Awards (www.tieawards.com). Vinay is a Member of the Board of Governors at XIME (Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship), a member of the Institute Innovation Council at National Institute of Technology, Kozhikode and a member of the Board of Studies at St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri.Vinay also Chairs nonprofits like Chhaya Foundation, an initiative that supports the education of underprivileged children, TYL Foundation, a Christian nonprofit that supports mission work and GETAI Foundation, a nonprofit that trains students and underprivileged women to integrate them into the AI workforce.
