Stories In My Backyard (SIMBY) is a nonprofit that provides Black youth access to culturally relevant media arts education through online and in-person experiences led by Black instructors to foster representation, belonging, and media literacy.We envision generations of Black storytellers who:- See themselves represented in the media they consume as learners, the artists who teach them, and the creative community they belong to- Benefit from dynamic arts programming, both in and out of school that prepares them to thrive as creators and critical consumers of media in the digital age- Have equal access to media arts education through on-demand digital content- Document and preserve Black history and culture, shaping the narratives of our present and future

Freelance videography and photography services in New York and Philadelphia, ranging from concerts and events to landscape photography.In October, I held my first photo workshop where I taught 10 black girls basic photography skills in partnership with PSTV.

My role requires me to: - Help develop, manage and execute communication/content strategies via social communities in coordination with overall strategic goals. - Create content for school-wide social media, and support department needs through well-conceived and engaging daily content. - Identify creative ways to generate and leverage user content. - Monitor Steinhardt-related conversations in social media, engaging with specific audiences and answering questions/providing good customer service.- Collaborate with marketing, graduate admissions, academic ops, and department/program leadership on social media efforts for marketing, recruitment, and yield.- Ensure that other content creators are adding accessible content and maintain quality of new digital content to align with overall institutional goals.- Participate in meetings with Steinhardt's communications team, communicators across the school, UDAR, and URPA, to share best practices, develop strategies, and review priorities.
