Development and Effectiveness of Fully Automated Conversational Agents (Chatbots) for Enhancing Public Mental Health: From Pilot Study to Randomized Control Trial

The Philippine National Book Development Board (NBDB) is the government body mandated to promote, empower, grow, and support the local book industry.I’m currently a researcher working alongside representatives of the NBDB to put together an industry report that describes the state of the publishing industry.

In this role, I conduct market research, depth interviews, and qualitative analysis to determine, understand, and address prominent market gaps within Philippine textbook publishing. Within my commissioning role, I discover, develop, and sustain valuable relationships between potential and actual Philippine-based writers, reviewers, and editors for Oxford University Press.

One of my main duties as Managing Editor began with acquisitions; I was tasked with vetting and developing manuscripts for publication, as well as soliciting submissions from content creators, and creating and sustaining a network of creatives, illustrators, writers, and industry contacts. In this position, I helped build annual production schedules and actively collaborated with team members during the book production process. I was also charged with providing creative direction at various points during the book production process: from cover design, to interior layout. As Managing Editor, I built professional, working relationships with both non-government organizations (NGOs) and government branches dedicated to growing the local book industry including the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and the Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP)

I provide copyediting services, as well as critical feedback for select academic articles published by Plaridel Journal, a Philippine Journal of Communication, Media, and Society. Plaridel is currently indexed in Elsevier's Scopus, and is accessible via Clarivate Analytics' Web of Science and the ASEAN Citation index.As copyeditor, I work to clarify the language of argumentation, identify and address structural, grammatical, and other issues at the level of the paragraph, sentence, word, and punctuation. I also provide revision notes, and other constructive feedback.
