I am a member of an entrepreneurial family which means I've worked for my self-employed parents for some time now. As I got older, I learned a lot about myself and what it takes to be a leader. I am managing multiple small teams who do various tasks in this current role; which includes a restaurant, catering business, coffee shop, shuttle company and two food trucks.

I started a venture in the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship, the New Venture Development Program, and decided to take my work a step further. We can fix that!The Flix Finder app is designed to be a hub for a modern movie buff in the US. As a community-centered platform, we compile films from popular streaming services and independent or international studios to personalize a set of movie recommendations for our users. Although we don’t stream the movies, we do offer multiple optimal ways for users to watch and experience movies they wouldn’t have otherwise been introduced to or been able to find. As time progresses, we recognize that accessibility to representation is lacking and people are becoming more curious about other cultures, customs, and norms. We want to funnel that curiosity through films, while promoting a safe and innovative platform to do so.Flix Finder is a personalized movie recommendation app showcasing independent and international movies - perfect for avid movie watchers. We operate on a freemium model, where you can receive free movie recommendations based on your general interests and changing factors like mood, or you can upgrade to a premium version of our model, which will offer more exclusive features and physical movie bucket lists.

Moving from a student, to a coach, to the lead coach was the best experience I've been given in the entrepreneurship world. The Spark program helps business students at the University of Arizona refine and articulate their innovative ideas, develop professionally through hands-on learning experience, understand the wide variety of entrepreneurship career possibilities and network with established innovators. Through I held three roles with this program, being the lead coach was the most eye opening and rewarding. In this role I was responsible for a number of things... - I led weekly planning meetings to brainstorm and create lesson plans with slides for sophomore business students. - I kept accurate and organized documentation of the school year to include attendance, meeting notes, and emails with supporters of the program (Eller faculty, companies, alumni, etc.). - I disseminated information, deadlines, and updates to students and management team weekly.- I mentored students outside of class time regarding both Eller and SPARK related matters including professional admissions, internships, New Venture Development program, etc.

The Thrive Center on the University of Arizona campus is designed to focus on the assets each student brings with them to college and connect them with valuable campus resources. As a peer mentor for the Cultural Learning Communities (CLC), I actively promoted this mission in all the students I mentored. It was an amazing opportunity to work with Black students and business students. During my time in this position, I was responsible for a number of things:- I scheduled, facilitated, and tracked one-on-one meetings with students interested in mentorship, students with scholarships, or students in crisis. - I worked closely and collaboratively with the CLC program coordinator and peer mentor colleagues to assist with developing bi-weekly workshops for the cultural learning communities. I then facilitated those workshops both in person and online. - I built and maintained collaboration with the Black cultural center directors, coordinators, and staff through social events and attending staff meetings.
