I am a third year at the Georgia Institute of Technology studying Public Policy with a concentration in Environmental Policy. I am also working towards a minor in Spanish.Throughout high school, I took my passion for environmental conservation and began taking action in my community. After beginning volunteer work as a Water Challenge Ambassador for EarthEcho International, I began organizing one to two events a year in my community focusing on environmental education for students in elementary and middle school. This experience taught me a valuable skills about communication, event planning, collaboration, and public speaking. After graduating from high school, I took my commitment with EarthEcho to the next level, taking on the role of Youth Leadership Council member, again focusing on education and community outreach. This new position involved the opportunity to work on environmental advocacy skills, culminating in organizing meetings with members of Congress to advocate for the establishment of Marine Protected Areas. Since joining the Youth Leadership Council, I have attended conferences like Capitol Hill Ocean Week and the Youth Ocean Conservation Summit to share my experiences and meet experts in the field of ocean policy.
