This role taught me how to work well independently and challenged me to keep learning. I was tasked with booking hotels and assisting with payroll by entering timecards electronically. I worked extensively with Outlook and Microsoft Office. I personally designed a PowerPoint that was used at a hiring fair for potential dry wallers. I was often the first point of contact in the office and directed customers and staff. My day often consisted of filing, coding invoices, telephone reception and accurate data entry.

This internship was my first experience working in a Human Resources role. It allowed me to get a better grasp of what Human Resources professionals do. I enjoyed interacting with employees and assisting with recruitment for the job fair we hosted during my time at the company. I learned valuable organizational skills, time management, collaboration, and how to put together hiring packages. Working alongside another fellow summer student we helped make the filing room more efficient and effective.

It was a joy being able to make someone's stay a little easier by being able to assist them during a difficult time.
