At TNO new plasma sources for Plasma Enhanced Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition (PES-ALD) are being developed. These sources are designed to reach a high throughput of various substrates, to efficiently and adequately deposit thin films. My task is to research the various challenges involved in plasma homogeneity and plasma-substrate interaction.

As test engineer I am responsible for testing Electrical drive systems (electrical drives(Sevcon, KEB) including motors, mostly Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines). Another task includes some design verification and validation for mostly the Marine industry and e-mobility. (applicability studies, modeling and manufacturability studies). As production engineer I am responsible for a seemless interaction between the manufacturing and the engineering departments.

At Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V. a static charge is used in the production of lithographic plates. This charge is hard to control and my job is to research what parameters are involved and how they can be adjusted to gain better control over this electrostatic charge.

Roermond

The goal was to provide the company's R&D department with a model to determine the endtemperature of an electric motor. A model has been made for the case of natural convection, plus documentation has been provided to further investigate the dependence of electrical drives on the heating of an electric motor.
