Led a redevelopment of our foundational probability of sale recommender models using a novel sequence-based model architecture. This unified a sprawling landscape of models into a single architecture and delivered significant reduction in resource usage and latency, as well as significantly improving personalization quality and our core KPIs including revenue, retention, and client satisfaction.

Led a team of data scientists & ML engineers working on tools and algorithms for assisting stylist in selecting optimal items for our clients, including item set modeling, fix generation, and natural language processing of client feedback. Also led a redevelopment of our outfit generation system, leading to a 16% revenue lift in sales from our personalized shop.

Conceived, developed, and put into production a clothing recommendation model for set-based item relationships (patented). Worked with a cross-functional team to overhaul Stitch Fix's stylist tooling to take advantage of this model, leading to significant improvements to client purchasing and satisfaction as well as stylist efficiency.

I developed a novel source of spectrally-pure entangled photons for scalable quantum information processing using a femtosecond laser system. I used power spectral analysis in a novel scheme for efficient quantum state characterization and analyzed timing correlations using singular value decomposition to measure entanglement in a continuous-variable basis.I also built and characterized a 91% quantum efficiency state-of-the-art cryogenic single-photon detection system. This system employed custom high-speed electronics with a Matlab user interface. I also used statistical modeling of the device physics and photon arrival probability distributions to characterize the detectors.

I began working as a lab intern testing chemical properties of paper coatings, but ended up designing and developing a system to replace the company’s paper testing records with an SQL database with a web front-end for recording, searching, and displaying test results, and generating PDF reports on those results for customers.

I developed and deployed a secure order form for using PHP, MySQL, and VeriSign.
