Studies on exposure and effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in these benthic fish species. Analysis of PAH metabolites in fish bile, EROD bioassays, measuring the induced enzyme activity, in fish liver microsomes, PAH analysis in gut contents of bullhead from the Detroit river. Doctoral StudentDepartment Of Environmental Chemistry, Stockholm University Feb 1995 - Dec 2001Stockholm, SwedenThe focus of my doctoral thesis was on polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and organochlorine pesticides and industrial (by-)products in fish, perch, from rivers and lakes in Latvia. The thesis also include a scientific paper on novel findings in bioaccumulation of these persistent organic pollutants in predatory fish species, perch, that change the trophic level during their lifetime. The thesis also include a methodological study on the concentration dynamics of PCB, DDT and other… Show more The focus of my doctoral thesis was on polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and organochlorine pesticides and industrial (by-)products in fish, perch, from rivers and lakes in Latvia.
