For 25+ years, I worked as a successful performing artist, educator, choreographer, director, mentor, and business owner with extensive experience in marketing and successful grant writing for projects in the arts. As a Teaching Artist funded by the National Endowment for the Arts/Tennessee Arts Commission, I performed professionally as a company member and freelance artist in public theaters and schools across the eastern United States and Brazil. Later, I established studios and wrote, designed and implemented grant projects like the one which brought weekly dance classes to hundreds of public school children in east Tennessee. These classes offered classical and contemporary dance training combined with the fundamentals of physical fitness, coordination, collaboration, character development, and performance techniques.
