About L. Eric James

I am a member of the American Society of Engineering Management and as a professor I teach subjects from that discipline including: Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Intellectual Property, Complex Adaptive Systems, Understanding Industry 4.0 and multiple courses related to management - change management, lean process improvement, systems analysis and design, project management, and integrating data collection into current and legacy systems. I am an expert in incorporating the use of big data into managerial decision making processes and systems. My research involves two area. The first is engineering education, especially the area of project-based learning, practice-embedded learning, and work-based learning. The second is entrepreneurship, economic development, and commercialization in both micro- and macro-economic development in highly regulated administrative environments such as universities and hospital/medical schools in their creation and interaction with start-ups and local businesses with a particular eye to understanding the thinking process of developing entrepreneurial skills in students and how those skills map to research on whole-brain thinking.
