Oversee epidemiological design and evaluation for all pre-market, post-approval, and Section 522 cardiovascular, neurological, and in vitro diagnostic medical devices in the U.S.; supervise epidemiological reviewers to ensure the quality and safety of all devices reviewed and monitored; conduct critical literature reviews for device safety; represent agency to work with stakeholders to promote public health in medical devices; prepare executive summaries and presentations for national safety evaluation and device classification meetings and respond to inquiries from experts, public and stakeholders; collaborate with investigators at others to promote health research initiatives; conduct collaborative research with investigators at academia.

Develop initiatives on the cutting edge of cancer, genetic, cancer registry, and epidemiology research; direct a diverse portfolio of cancer research grants, including nutritional epidemiology, epigenetics, health disparity, environmental toxicant exposure, metabolomics, and adductomics; direct transdisciplinary collaboration and cohort research; and conduct research on cancer epidemiologic studies; and served as Referral Fellow at the Center for Scientific Review and Liaison between Division and Review.

Direct epidemiological research on cancer of lung, stomach, prostate, ovary, and pancreas, as well as on dietary assessment through interview and biomarkers; initiating studies of dietary assessment for special population and early detection biomarker for breast and ovarian cancer; secondary data analysis and statistical modeling in health and nutrition using national survey data; statistical consultation and proposal development for faculty at Medical School; and design and direct study on factors associated with healthy aging.Direct Analytical Chemistry Laboratory on human nutritional biomarkers for carotenoids and tocopherols, biospecimen procurement, and nutritional biomarker measurements development.
