-Reduced the error in predicting multi-component pressure-dependent rate coefficients to within 10% (compared to a factor of 10 deviations from the widely applied method) by analytically and numerically solving the master equation.-Achieved a ~15% improvement in the agreement of predictions with experimental measurements by implementing an iterative approach that dynamically samples system conditions and evaluates corresponding rate coefficients.-Developed a novel methodology and in-house algorithm for automatically evaluating reaction kinetic parameters for coupled potential energy surfaces with quantum-mechanical and statistical-mechanical theories.-Published 3 first-author papers on first-quarter journals in combustion (cumulative impact factors 10.85). Another two papers are under review.-Delivered 8 presentations in international and domestic academic conferences.-Assisted in teaching one graduate-level and one undergraduate-level course.

Worked on the U.S. Oil and Gas team to develop a model to help track the liquefied natural gas (LNG) inventory levels at major U.S. export facilities. The model leverages Bloomberg's pipeline feedgas intake and LNG exports datasets,integrates the infrastructural and operational information in company filings and reports (on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy, the U.S. Energy Information Administration, etc.), and proposes pragmatic assumptions for each link of the LNG production chain.

-Created a 3D cubic five-alveoli-ring model for adult human acinar tree system from the 15th to 23rd generations using AutoCAD and 3-D printing technique.-Simulated and analyzed particle transport and deposition inside constructed alveolar model on a structured-and-unstructured hybrid mesh.-Adopted user-defined functions to mimic periodic mesh motion and fluid variation in a real respiration cycle.

-Led a team of five on experimental design and measurements of 119 hydrodynamic and water-equality indicators for the urban river network in the ancient town of Suzhou, China.-Assisted in local decision-making on urban river water equality improvement by providing technical support through geographic information system and statistical correlation analyses.-Published a first-author conference paper (only student in Class 2015 at School of Environment).

-Developed and launched the VBA-based Green House Gas Accounting Tool for Chinese Cities (GHGAT 2.0).-Quantified the relations among energy structure, utilization patterns and emissions to facilitate greenhouse gas control and energy infrastructure efficiency enhancement.

-Assisted in the land-use planning and monitoring, participated in the field research on the gentle-slope lowland reform project in Haidong Mountain Development Demonstration Zone, Dali, China.-Completed remote sensing image processing and interpretation, proposed land-use map and buffer analysis of point and non- point source pollution for Haidong Mountain Development Demonstration Zone.-Completed the feasibility research part in the environmental impact report of the “Yunnan Granary” land remediation project.

-Completed a review paper summarizing the width and depth of water footprint application status in China.-Completed introductory material on the water-energy-food nexus for the public.-Assisted in translating and editing the Bluebook of Water and Development (2013).
