A qualified Marine Deck Officer from the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, with most recent positions as 2nd Mate on board a PSV, Chief Mate on board a Near Coastal Oil Tanker, 2nd Officer with Atlantic Offshore and Marine Scotland on board their Fishery Protection Vessel and previously as 2nd Officer on board a dredger for Cemex.Provided temporary cover as 2/O on board the PSVs FS Aquarius and the SBS Tempest.Whilst working on the FS Aquarius I was on the 12-6 watch. Working alongside the chief mate and providing assistance as required. This included conducting pre-entry checks for entering the 500m zone, ensuring all navigational equipment/engines, thrusters etc. were operational and ready for immediate use. Providing weather details, distances, obstructions and any other relevant information as required. Once alongside the rig I monitored the loading and discharging operations, liaising between the rig our deck crew and the control room.As Chief Mate/OOW on the John Wood I held the 12-6 watch and was responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel during these hours. This role allowed me to take on far more responsibility as an officer as I was tasked with keeping the oil record book up to date, signing off entries in the Official log book and taking charge of Loading and Discharging Operations. This also meant completing and signing off pre-bunkering checklists, complying with SOPEP and company procedures. I was also involved in overseeing a heavy lift operation, where one of our diesel generators was removed from the engine room for repairs shoreside. The captain also gave me the opportunity to embark and disembark the Pilot as well as taking soul watch during pilotage through the Firth of Forth and River Tay.Full CV can be provided on request.
