Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Well for the past 27 years working at Orlando Health I've mostly worked at night. In that time I've held two titles One in the Security Department, and the latest for 22 years in the Emergency Room Business office. You could say I am addicted to chaos . I am often asked why I haven't applied for any leadership roles? The truth... I do my best work at ground level. The direct patient contact keeps me in touch with the changes occurring in the community we serve. Yeah sounds corny, but true to me. While I will never claim to be a perfect employee as each day comes with unexpected challenges. Those are mostly managing the crowd and seeking to maintain the patient informed. My original plan was to join the Creative Services Department as a Photographer/ Videographer . But as I finished College that department had been 90% outsourced. Disillusioned and busy with toddlers I was given a choice between IT or ED Registration. Something about being part of the Emergency Room team vs being locked up with computers humming behind me was attractive. Well since then some of my greatest accomplishments will go unnoticed. I am ok with that, because every one of them was accomplished by being focused on one goal. Show the patient and family I serve they are valued.
